Oasis Announce Surprise New Single for Charity Album
What could unite Britpop rivals Blur and Oasis — in the ’90s and today? The answer is War Child, the non-profit supporting children affected by conflict around the world.
Back in 1995, both bands appeared on The Help Album, a compilation project in aid of the charity's work at the time in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were accompanied by several artists, including Paul McCartney, Sinead O'Connor, and The Stone Roses, to lend their mighty talents to new recordings to help raise funds.
Now, in 2026, War Child is releasing HELP(2), 30 years on from the original musical endeavour. Previously announced artists featured on the album include Arctic Monkeys,Olivia Rodrigo, Pulp, and Blur members Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon (although on separate tracks). One previously unannounced artist on the project, unveiled today, will get alt-rock fans even more excited than they were before.
Oasis Will Release a New Recording of 'Acquiesce' From Their Live '25 Tour
Oasis has contributed a new version of Acquiesce to the HELP(2) album. The song, first released in 1995 as a B-side to Some Might Say and released on the B-Side compilation album The Masterplan in 1998, is a perfect addition to the charity album.
A fan favorite, its 30-year anniversary and rousing lyrics of Because we need each other /
We believe in one another, suits the community spirit of the second War Child album. This has also made Acquiesce a ground-shaking stadium anthem at Oasis gigs, even though it was never a single in its own right. Appropriately, the recording is taken from the Gallagher brothers' Live '25 reunion tour, on the final night of their seven-show stretch at London's Wembley Stadium.
Acquiesce (Live from Wembley Stadium, 28 September ’25) will be available as a bonus 7” single inside the gatefold vinyl of HELP(2), and as a hidden track on the double CD. Fans can stream and download the track from Friday, 6 March.
