Trader Joe's Recalls 4 Frozen Foods That May Contain Glass. Here's What You Need to Know.

Trader Joe's has issued a recall of four of its popular frozen Asian dishes for potential glass contamination. The affected products include:

• Chicken Fried Rice with Best By dates March 4, 2026 through Feb. 10, 2027
• Vegetable Fried Rice with Best By dates Feb. 28, 2026 through Nov. 19, 2026
• Japanese Style Fried Rice with Best By dates Feb. 28, 2026 through Nov. 14, 2026
• Chicken Shu Mai with Best By dates March 13, 2026 through Oct. 23, 2026

Customers with the recalled products are advised to either throw them in the trash or return it to Trader Joe's for a full refund.

Trader Joe's Recalled Chicken Fried Rice In February

This is an expansion of an earlier recall nearly two weeks ago. On Feb. 20, Ajinomoto Foods, which manufactures Trader Joe's chicken fried rice, recalled nearly 3.4 million pounds of product sold in the U.S. and Canada. This led Trader Joe's to issue its own recall that same day.

While no injuries or incidents have been reported, the recall was prompted after four customers reported finding glass in their food to the company, per ABC News.

Trader Joe's Had Several Recalls Last Year

These are Trader Joe's first recalls of the year, but 2025 saw quite a few recalls for the beloved grocery chain. In February 2025, Trader Joe's recalled its Organic Acai Bowls for potentially containing plastic.

Most recently, the company recalled Moonlight Fresh Yellow Peaches and Face Rock Creamery's Vampire Slayer Cheese Curds, as well as Trader Joe's name brand Cajun Style Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and its Turkey Gobbler Wrap for potentially containing Listeria monocytogenes.

Not all of last year's recalls were quite as serious, though. For example, Trader Joe's recalled its Uncured Pepperoni Pizza simply because it was not inspected upon being imported to the U.S. from Italy.
