'The Bear' Star Seemingly Confirms When Hit Show Will End
Since its debut in 2022, FX's "The Bear" has thrilled audiences over four seasons. The show, which has won 21 Primetime Emmys, was officially renewed for a fifth season back in July 2025.
Judging by some recent comments from Jamie Lee Curtis, one of the series stars, it sounds like Season 5 will be the swan song for "The Bear."
Hints drop on social media
The talk about "The Bear" entering its final season picked up two weeks ago, when Curtis, who plays Donna Berzatto, posted a photo of herself with co-star Abby Elliott, who plays Natalie "Sugar" Berzatto, Curtis' daughter on the show.
“FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with," Curtis wrote in the caption. "Got to finish it out with my baby Berzatto bear, @lilcutieforever@thebearfx."
Now, Curtis has expounded on those words in a new interview.
Curtis doubles down
On Wednesday, Access Hollywood released a conversation with Curtis from the premiere of her upcoming Prime video show “Scarpetta."
“People think you were confirming the show is ending..." said Access Hollywood correspondent Emily Orozco.
“But everybody’s confirmed the show is ending. I don’t understand why that’s such a [big deal]," Curtis responded, via Variety. "Unless I’m gonna get a call from all the people saying, ‘You just told [everyone],’ I think everybody understood that it was the last season of the show. If it isn’t, then I’ve completely blown it.”
It's true that the arc of Season 4 of "The Bear" did seem to indicate that things were winding down and on Rotten Tomatoes, the season produced the show's lowest ratings, albeit still with 84% approval from critics.
We'll just have to wait and see if we get official confirmation of a last hurrah soon.
