The month's activities kick off with Carving Cats, a women's community ride day for snowboarders. Hosted by Tailer Spinney, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, the day will focus on building confidence and camaraderie amongst women riders. Riders of all levels are welcome, whether they're carving groomers or exploring off-piste terrain at Palisades. The event seeks to help women connect with new riding partners in a welcoming environment. Following lift laps, the event will conclude with après at the KT Base Bar.
Also taking place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, is a book signing by author Lisa Arnbrister Barbash at Bar One. Barbash will read from her new historical non-fiction book, Four Women and a Mountain: Legends and Legacies of the Sierra. Through interviews and diary excerpts, the book highlights how four women helped to shape the culture of the Olympic Valley and Lake Tahoe region. The book features retired alpine skier and community organizer, Sandy Poulsen, the 'Queen of Kirkwood' and wife of avalanche hunter, Dick Reuter, Jeanne Reuter, Neata Arnbrinster, whose family roots are deeply tied to the origins of snowboarding and it's introduction to the Olympics, and Sherry McConkey, wife of the late Shane McConkey, and local advocate and community leader.
Following the reading, Barbash will host a Q&A and book signing.
On Saturday, March 14, 2026, SheJumps is hitting Palisades Tahoe for their national Get the Girls Out! campaign and celebration. The event will include a basecamp gathering at the KT Base Bar Deck, group lunch meetups, a Golden Girafficorn (SheJumps mascot!) scavenger hunt, and après. The event is free to attend, although attendees must have a valid lift ticket.
Lastly, in a continuation of International Women's Month, Tahoe-based pro skier Amie Engerbertson will host a Women of Winter Camp from April 2-3, 2026. The camp is designed for intermediate and expert skiers and will offer an immersive coaching experience from Engerbretson and Palisades Tahoe Mountain Sports School Instructors.
Participants in the camp will focus on refining technique, building confidence, and explore Palisades' legendary terrain in a supportive, all-female environment. Off-snow activities such as yoga, curated lunches, and a wine gathering will also work to create an environment of recovery, connection, and community building amongst attendees. The camp includes lift-early ups, a welcome reception, curated social events, complimentary parking, gift bags, raffle prizes, and a 15% slopeside lodging discount.
In addition to events, Palisades Tahoe will also publish its Women's Blog Series throughout the month. The series highlights women across the resort working in mountain ops, ski patrol, hospitality, marketing, and leadership.
In publishing these stories, Palisades hopes to showcase the career journeys, mentorship, and ever-evolving roles of women in the ski industry.
