This free tool shows exactly what’s eating up your storage space
SpaceSniffer is a great free tool that visualizes the space on your storage drive to better understand how files and folders are structured. It uses what’s called a Treemap visualization layout that displays different files, folders, and subfolders as colored rectangles. The larger the item, the larger the rectangle.
It’s a really intuitive way to parse where the data on your drive is located, and how much space each item is taking up. Whether I’m looking to free up space on my drive or get a better understanding of my current storage situation, SpaceSniffer is my go-to tool. It even allows you to conveniently filter by things like file size, type, and date so you can narrow down your results. The app is lightweight and, best of all, it’s free.
