Murder investigation launched after woman’s body found near private member’s club
A woman’s body has been found close to a private member’s club, with one man arrested as part of a murder investigation.
Police were called to Phyllis Court Drive in Henley-on-Thames shortly before 8am on Friday following the death of a woman.
She has yet to be formally identified, Thames Valley Police said.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
There will be an increased police presence in the area while detectives continue to investigate over the weekend.

The club was closed yesterday.
Photos taken at the scene show police and forensics officers scouring the Thames for evidence.
Detective Inspector Rob Underhill said: ‘The investigation is still in its early stages; however, an arrest has been made, and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
‘I want to reassure the community that there is no risk to the wider public.
‘Members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence while we continue to investigate, and we would advise anyone with any concerns to please speak to one of our uniformed officers.’
