Miss Malawi organisers hail VP Dr Jane Ansah…her presence sends a strong message, not only as a woman, but as a woman of influence
Miss Malawi organisers have hailed Vice President Dr Jane Ansah for presiding over this years’ International Women’s Day celebrations at Pearl Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
Miss Malawi Thandie Chisi organised the event to inspire young girls through interactions with leading women from key sectors including agriculture, public service and policy, media and communications, medicine, the creative industry and the NGO sector.
Speaking during the event, Organising Committee Chairperson, Godfrey Kambewa said the Vice President’s presence at the event sends a strong message, not only as a woman, but as a woman of influence.
He said the organisers decided to invite students from Lilongwe Girls Secondary School and Likuni Girls Secondary School because the Vice President attended her secondary education at Lilongwe Girls, while Miss Malawi Thandie Chisi studied at Likuni Girls.
Kambewa also thanked the Vice President for making a cash donation of K1 million towards the event.
