Why We Love This Deal
REI’s Member Days sale has just begun, and the deals are sweet: discounts up to 40% off on camping gear, apparel, footwear, and more from now through March 23. You can browse some of the best deals in our guide to the sale, but this major markdown on a top-rated four-person tent deserves its own spotlight.
The REI Co-op Wonderland 4 Tent is on sale for $257, a 40% discount from its normal price of $429. This deal lasts through March 23 and applies to REI members only, but you can sign up here for a one-time fee of $30 (even with the membership fee, you’d still save over $140 on this tent). While there are cheaper four-person tents out there, they don’t offer the spacious design and sturdy, trustworthy build quality of this REI model—especially at this price, it’s a worthy investment.

What Shoppers Should Know
- Floor Dimensions: 100 x 100 inches
- Peak Height: 75 inches
- Packaged Weight: 21 pounds, 11 ounces
- Doors: 2
- Best For: Car camping
The Wonderland 4 has a unique design: unlike typical dome-shaped tents, it has a half-cylinder shape (sort of like a Quonset hut) with nearly vertical walls, which makes it extremely spacious inside. Its 100-by-100-inch rectangular bottom shape also maximizes interior volume. Overall, this camping tent’s cavernous interior makes it ideal for use with camping cots, and most people can stand up inside thanks to its lofty ceiling height. The aluminum poles are color-coded for easy setup, and according to shoppers, they’re strong enough to withstand gusty winds and challenging weather.
The seam-sealed floor effectively blocks water, and triangular mesh windows and mesh panels on the doors generate cooling airflow so the tent stays comfortable while you snooze. A rain fly is included along with guy lines and stakes, and awnings over the doors keep raindrops from flying in and also provide some helpful shade. At nearly 22 pounds, this tent is definitely too heavy for backpacking, but it’s an ideal choice for car camping—the Wonderland provides a spacious campsite shelter that you’ll actually want to hang out in.

What Shoppers Are Saying
Shoppers called the Wonderland 4 “a great car camping tent” and a major upgrade over cheap big box store tents. Multiple reviewers were blown away by how spacious it is—that’s probably this tent’s biggest selling point. One said it has “plenty of room” for two people, sleeping pads, gear, and a dog, and another said it’s “crazy how big this tent is on the inside.” They measure over six feet tall and were able to stand inside of it. Shoppers also reported the Wonderland 4 withstands nasty weather—thunderstorms, snowstorms, torrential tropical rains—without issue. One shopper used it during a 10-day camping trip in Arkansas with lots of rain and said it kept him “bone dry.”
With Member Days in full swing, deals like this 40% price cut on the Wonderland 4 are going to get snapped up quickly, and REI could run out of stock before the sale ends on March 23—better grab yours quick before that happens.
