My family—my Irish family—they’re all here. Ireland bought them flights. Where are you?
Mom, Dad, thank you for teaching us to dream and to never be defined by expectation, but to carve from your own passion.
You, Fred—I love you, man. I love you. You’re the most incredible dad. You’re my best friend, and I want to have 20,000 more babies with you. I do. I do.
And Isla—my little girl, who is eight months old—who has absolutely no idea what’s going on and is probably dreaming of milk. But this… it’s kind of a big deal. And I love you, and I love being your mom, and I can’t wait to discover life beside you.
Chloe and Maggie—to get to know this incandescent woman and journey to understand the capacity of a mother’s love is the greatest collision of my life.
It’s Mother’s Day in the UK today, so I would like to dedicate this to the beautiful chaos of a mother’s heart.

Jessie Buckley and her husband, Freddie, welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2025. The actress, who married her husband in 2023, revealed her pregnancy in April 2025 at CinemaCon and later confirmed the birth in October 2025 during a podcast appearance.

“It’s intense, but I just love it,” she said of motherhood. “I really can see her little personality start to come through. I see this life force in her and determination, and I hope she loves life as much as I do.”
The next month, Buckley revealed her favorite thing about parenting.
“The best thing about being a mom is just when even when you’re having a hard day, they give you these otherworldly little smiles and make your heart crack into a thousand pieces, and you think, ‘Oh, it’s all going to be okay,’ ” she told Elle.
Buckley filmed Hamnet — where she portrays Agnes Shakespeare, a mother of three — before she welcomed her daughter. But even then, she had a deep desire for motherhood.
“I wasn’t a mother at the time that I filmed it. I deeply wanted to be a mother, but I have a mother and I know women and we’re pretty epic,” the actress told press at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. “We’ve got a lot. We contain multitudes. We’ve got a lot inside of us.”
