Tottenham stars just proved something about Igor Tudor’s dressing room image, says Clinton Morrison

Clinton Morrison believes that Tottenham’s performance at Anfield proved one thing about Igor Tudor as he fights to keep his job.

Ahead of the game against Liverpool, the interim Spurs head coach had presided over four extremely poor displays and had failed to get any sort of response from the Tottenham squad.

It appeared that the 5-2 loss against Atletico Madrid could be the final straw, with reports indicating that Tottenham were working on candidates to replace Tudor.

However, despite being without so many of their key players and going 1-0 down early in the encounter at Anfield, the away side battled back and emerged with a deserved point, owing to a late Richarlison equaliser.

Clinton Morrison claims Tottenham players are still playing for Igor Tudor

In the lead-up to Sunday’s clash, it was widely reported that the Tottenham squad had completely lost faith in Tudor.

However, Clinton Morrison believes that the performance against Liverpool shows that the Spurs players are still playing for the Croat, and he urged the Lilywhites to stick with the former Juventus boss.

The former Crystal Palace star told BBC Radio 5 Live at Anfield: “I thought Liverpool were going to beat Tottenham three or four comfortably. It goes to show that the players are still playing for the manager [Igor Tudor].

“Everyone knows their role and everyone giving 100%. When you get a draw somewhere like Liverpool, it gives everyone a big lift going into the next game.

“It is a huge six-pointer [against Nottingham Forest], and they have got to go win that game against Forest. Will there be a change at Tottenham? I don’t think so. That’s how football is!”

The point against Liverpool comes at a crucial time, as it means that the players will take some confidence into the huge clash coming up next Sunday.

The North Londoners could be boosted massively ahead of the clash, with reports indicating that Tottenham could have five players back for the clash against Forest.

While Spurs have the small matter of a Champions League R16 clash against Atletico Madrid to tackle first, it is fair to say that all eyes will be on the six-pointer against the Midlands side, which is Tottenham’s biggest of the season so far.
