Mixed duet events at European Aquatics Championships Paris 2026 to be open to non-European artistic swimmers
European Aquatics is delighted to announce that the mixed duet events (free and technical) at the European Aquatics Championships Paris 2026 will be open to non-European federations.
Although this event is emerging as one of the most exciting in the programme, opportunities for international athletes to compete remain limited.
It has therefore been decided to extend participation to athletes from outside Europe as well.
The programme of those two events is subject to change according to the participating duets.
Non-European participants will be able to win medals, but this will be independent of the awarding of medals to European entrants and their ranking.
The 38th edition of the European Aquatics Championships will take place from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 16 in the Centre Aquatique Olympique built for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The artistic swimming competition will run from Friday, July 31 to Wednesday, August 5.
The mixed duet free final is set for Saturday, August 1, and the mixed duet technical final will take place on the following day.
