‘Every parent’s worst nightmare’: Couple forced to permanently give up their two daughters because they GO TO CHURCH!
Qualified parents who even earned the seal of approval from leftists in their nation’s social agenda-pursuing government have been ordered to give up their parental rights to their two daughters, permanently, because they go to church.
The anti-Christian ruling, which is final, was delivered by the so-called European Court of Human Rights, which appears to have violated the rights of not just the parents but the daughters, as all parties had sought a reunion.
The original fracas developed several years ago when Swedish child protective service activists found out the eldest daughter made a false report at school, a report that was triggered by a dispute with her parents over their decision against allowing her to have a cell phone and use makeup.
She later retracted her complaint, a retraction that made no difference to social services authorities, who have kept both daughters in separate foster homes.
Their plan now is to terminate the parental rights of Daniel and Bianca Samson entirely and push the girls for adoption, as the ECHR refused to intervene in the case.
According to ADF International, which has represented the family in the proceedings, the family is of Romanian origin but had been living in Sweden for a number of years.
The dispute erupted in December 2022 and has featured a complete absence of any evidence of abuse, but has included evidence of the declining physical and mental health condition of the girls in foster care.
“The case raises serious concerns about delays, overreach, and possible discrimination against Christians in Sweden’s child welfare system. The state has cited the family’s regular attendance at church three times a week to corroborate accusations of ‘religious extremism,’ despite the fact that this simply reflects their religious beliefs and is a protected action under international human rights law,” ADF International reported.
The ECHR claimed that the case brought by the parents was “inadmissible.”
ADF International said, “The decision of inadmissibility is final and cannot be appealed.” Yet the legal team said the “next steps” are being assessed.
“This case strikes at the heart of every parent’s most fundamental right—the freedom to care for and protect one’s children. The Samsons are living every parent’s worst nightmare, having lost their children to the state for nearly three years,” explained Guillermo A. Morales Sancho.
The girls were taken when Sara was 11 and Tiana was 10.
“Although Sara quickly retracted the allegation and prosecutors closed the investigation absent any evidence, the children remain separated from their parents. The Samsons initially agreed to temporary foster care to allow for the inquiry, but despite their cooperation, authorities later refused reunification and moved to suspend their parental rights,” the ADF International team said.
“When the abuse allegations collapsed, child protection services instead accused the parents of being ‘religious extremists,’ citing their refusal to let the girls wear make-up and the family’s regular attendance at church three times a week.”
The couple has five other children whose custody was not disrupted.
The parents completed mandatory parenting training during the process and were certified as to capacity and fitness.
The ADF International team pointed out that in Sweden “Independent Foster Care Agencies” often are used, and they are private contractors that may have a “profit motive” that leads to cases being extended over and over.
ADF International said, “Despite a full investigation that cleared Mr. and Mrs. Samson of any abuse, Swedish authorities have prolonged this family’s suffering and have still not allowed the children to go home, including keeping the daughters separate from each other. It is tragic—and unacceptable—that a child who recanted her allegations and yearns to be home remains separated from her family, resulting in extended and severe mental distress.
“The element of religious discrimination is also unmistakable in this case.”
