'Future star': 15yo Man Utd wonderkid in line for major pre-season breakthrough
Manchester United are on the verge of making a major call ahead of the 2026–27 season.
According to reliable insider Sully, Man United have already initiated plans to bring wonderkid JJ Gabriel onto their first-team pre-season tour.
The Red Devils are drawing inspiration from the rapid rise of Max Dowman, hoping Gabriel can follow a similar breakthrough path next season.
At just 15, Gabriel is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents of his generation, with the potential to reach the very pinnacle of the sport.
The sensational forward has trained with the United first-team several times this season under both Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick.
Several European heavyweights attempted to lure him away last summer, but United’s hierarchy acted decisively to convince him and his family that Old Trafford remains the ideal place for his development.
He is not eligible to play in the Premier League this campaign but could have made his debut in cup competitions.
Unfortunately, those opportunities vanished quickly as United suffered early exits in both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
Gabriel became the youngest player ever to feature for Man United’s under-18s last April.
He has since taken Premier League 2 by storm, racking up an astonishing 18 goals and three assists in just 19 appearances.
Despite being only 15, he sits at the top of the goal-scoring charts with Manchester City’s Teddie Lamb behind him on 16 goals.
While caution is always advised with young talents, the excitement surrounding Gabriel is simply impossible to ignore.
Even Marcus Rashford labelled him a “future star” after the then-14-year-old announced himself with a brace on his under-18 debut.
Being involved with the senior squad during pre-season will offer a priceless learning experience for the young forward.
If he can impress the United hierarchy, a fast-tracked route to the first team could soon become a reality.
