Coleman may be 120 years old, but never accuse the company of not innovating. It just released a hard sided cooler design that may just revolutionize the industry. Hard sided coolers are a necessity for keeping drinks cold and food chilled for camping trips and day trips to the beach. The problem is hard sided coolers are so darn bulky.
They take up a lot of space in a car's trunk and finding a place for a bulky cooler to live at home can be a real pain. Coleman just solved that issue with a line of collapsible hard coolers that break down to a 1/3 of their size. It’s the first collapsible hard sided cooler we’ve ever seen and a real game changer.

Space Saving Design
This design has two main advantages. You can use the coolers to keep drinks and food cold, then collapse them down to size at the end of the trip for easier transport home. It also makes the cooler a lot easier to store at home when it’s not in use. There’s no need to clear a large space on a garage or storage room shelf. When collapsed down to size, the coolers are small enough to slide into the side of a closet or even store on a shelf. Coleman says collapsing and expanding the cooler takes less than 10 seconds.
Function to Go With Form
Of course, insulation is everything when it comes to coolers these days. Insulation technology with hard sided has become so good that some can maintain fridge-like temperatures for upwards of a week. One wouldn’t be remiss in wondering if Coleman isn’t trading performance for convenience. While it may not match top coolers that can keep stuff cold upwards of a week, Coleman says its Snap 'N Go coolers will retain ice for up to 64 hours, which is about two and a half days. That's more than enough for a day trip or even a weekend camping trip.
Competitively Priced
Coleman is known for its budget priced camping gear and this cooler is no different. The Snap ‘N Go cooler, which is available in 35, 45, and 55 quart sizes, retails for $199 to $240, depending on size. It’s a reasonable price when compared to other coolers of similar size that cost twice as much. The cooler is available in three colors–Blue Sky, Sapphire, and Mussel.
