Trump gets even after red state Republicans defy his bidding: 'America last!'
President Donald Trump attempted to get revenge on six Indiana Republicans who refused to go along with his demand to have new district maps drawn up before the midterm elections.
In a flurry of Truth Social posts on Tuesday, Trump endorsed primary challengers to the Republicans who had defied him.
State Senators Greg Walker, Eric Bassler, Greg Goode, Spencer Deery, Jim Buck, and Travis Holdman all felt the president's wrath when he instead endorsed Michelle Davis, Jeff Ellington, Brenda Wilson, Paula Copenhaver, Tracey Powell, and Blake Fiechter.
In each case, Trump blasted the incumbent as a "RINO," an acronym for Republican in name only.
"'No Goode' and his RINO friends made Indiana, a State I have tremendous love for, the only State in the Country that essentially said they don't care about what happens to the United States Congress, and therefore to America's future," Trump said of state Sen. Greg Goode. "We could have easily picked up two seats in Indiana, but No Goode, an America Last politician, threw in with the Democrats, thereby putting our Country in a very dangerous position, and risking the reversal of so much of the incredible progress we have made over the last year for our Country and our people."
Trump argued that each of the candidates would soon take the lead thanks to his endorsements.
