Sailor injured aboard USS Abraham Lincoln during flight ops in Arabian Sea
A US Navy Sailor was injured aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln while conducting flight operations in the Arabian Sea on March 25, officials said.
The injured sailor was quickly transported ashore to receive additional medical care and is reported to be in stable condition, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM). The injury is not combat-related nor life-threatening, it was highlighted.
Navy officials have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
CENTCOM also noted that Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group has continued its scheduled operations without interruption, maintaining its strike missions in support of Operation Epic Fury.
The carrier remains fully operational, and officials emphasize that the safety and readiness of the crew remain top priorities.
Earlier on, Iranian authorities claimed that cruise missiles were launched from the country’s coast toward the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea. Iranian state media published video footage of missile launches. CENTCOM has previously described similar reports as false.
