‘An innocent man’: Government to compensate Mike Flynn for malicious Mueller prosecution

Michael Flynn, a former national security adviser to President Donald Trump, is being paid $1.2 million by the Department of Justice for a malicious prosecution of him that stemmed from the corrupt Robert Mueller investigation of Trump.

And Flynn is warning Americans not to let the corruption happen again.

Flynn issued a “family” statement on the settlement of his $50 million lawsuit over being prosecuted.

“Today, after ten years of fighting, I have reached a settlement agreement with the United States Government in my case regarding the Russian Hoax FBI lawfare against me. Nothing can fully compensate for the hell that my family and I have endured over these many years—the relentless attacks, the destruction of reputations, the financial ruin, and the profound personal toll inflicted upon us all. No amount of money or formal resolution can erase the pain caused by a prosecution that should never have been brought.”

He warned where the fault rests: “This ordeal stemmed from partisan government officials in a coordinated effort to pursue an innocent man as part of a broader campaign to undermine @realDonaldTrump and his administration.”

That, in fact, was the result of a coordinated lawfare assault on Trump and many of his supporters and colleagues. The Democrat-orchestrated lawfare saw multiple legal cases brought against Trump and his associates, most of which failed. Primary among the lies was the one promoted by Hillary Clinton, about which Barack Obama was advised, that the Trump 2016 campaign colluded with Russia.

Flynn’s comments continued: “It was a relentless, partisan pursuit that weaponized federal law enforcement in an audacious and unjust manner. Yet this settlement goes far in demonstrating that the current Department of Justice, under the leadership of President Trump, Attorney General Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Blanche, and other dedicated departmental leaders, is committed to bringing accountability for the bad acts of those partisan actors. It marks a meaningful step toward righting a profound wrong.”

Flynn warned about the “weaponization” of the government by Democrats against Trump.

“There should never again be such a brazen attempt to weaponize federal law enforcement against political opponents or innocent citizens. It is essential that we remain guardians of the rule of law. A huge part of that guardianship is accountability, holding those who abuse power to answer for their actions. It is not this Department of Justice that created this crisis of politicized justice, but they are doing right by truly pursuing justice now—ensuring that the facts prevail and that such abuses are not repeated. This resolution, while imperfect, brings to an end this chapter of injustice. This small measure of accountability should help the nation heal regarding the abuses of the past. It allows my family and me to move forward. My family and I remain grateful for the support of so many who stood by us. It was their support and our faith in God Almighty that sustained us and gave us the strength to endure.”

Flynn’s wrongful prosecution involved his “making false statements” to the FBI.

A report from the Gateway Pundit said the case ends “a decade-long nightmare of FBI entrapment, Mueller witch hunt lies, and financial devastation orchestrated to take down President Trump’s first National Security Advisor.”

The three-star general, the report said, was “ambushed by corrupt FBI agents in the White House, set up with a perjury trap, and then hit with bogus charges months after former FBI Director James Comey himself admitted to lawmakers that Flynn did not lie during the interview.”

The report said, “Flynn shouldered $5 million in legal bills, according to sources who spoke to ABC News. He was set up, framed, and forced to burn through his life savings defending his good name against the most twisted, partisan government officials this country has ever seen. Now, under President Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Deputy AG Todd Blanche, some measure of accountability has finally arrived.”

The Hill reported the case against Flynn was premised on statements he made about contacts with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Flynn pleaded guilty, then tried to withdraw the plea because of his accusations prosecutors coerced him.

Later the DOJ moved the drop the case entirely because his “false statements” were not “material,” and Trump later pardoned Flynn.

Mueller’s 22-month investigation resulted in the conclusion that the Trump campaign did not conspire or coordinate with Russia to interfere with the election.
