“She does have another record in the works, but there’s no pressure to release it anytime soon. It’s still very much in the creative stages,” a source claimed to the outlet.

A second insider described this time in her life as “a lighter, fun chapter,” and her music will likely reflect that. “She never meant to do a massive tour attached to it,” the Swift pal said of her recent Life of a Showgirl album. “Taylor’s priority right now is her personal life. She and Travis are saving all their energy for the big summer they have coming up.”

There is a key date that Swifties should keep in mind, though: October 24, 2026. That is the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift. Will fans get to hear “Taylor’s Version” of the album? Swift has already revealed in her May 2025 open letter to fans on Instagram that she had “completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now.”

Swift believes that her debut album and Reputation, which was not completely rerecorded yet, “can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about. But if it happens, it won’t be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now.”

That 20th anniversary milestone feels like the right time for her to release “Taylor’s Version” of her first album. Twenty years in the music industry, especially in this challenging economic and digital era, is a big deal, and Swift deserves to honor her work.
