Tokayev congratulates Kazakhstan’s boxing team after World Cup triumph

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with members of Kazakhstan’s national boxing team following their impressive victory at the World Boxing Cup held in Astana, according to the Akorda press service.

"Congratulations on your victory! Boxing is a sport for the strong in spirit. It’s a special discipline. I wish you continued success. The state will always support you. I am confident that boxing in our country will keep developing," the president said during his meeting with the athletes.




On Sunday, July 6, Tokayev joined fans at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace to watch the tournament’s final bouts.
The World Boxing Cup brought together 250 boxers from 29 countries, serving as a ranking event that contributes points toward Olympic qualification.
