'Imminent offer': Arsenal preparing to 'close the signing' of Spanish star after striker & winger deals
Arsenal could make multiple signings over the coming week.
The Gunners have had a good summer transfer window thus far.
They have signed goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, and midfield duo Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.
The club have also secured deals for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres and Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.
Spanish outlet Las Provincias now claim that Arsenal are poised to make an ‘imminent offer’ for Cristhian Mosquera.
The Gunners made an opening bid worth £12.1 million for the Valencia star this month, which was swiftly rejected.
They are preparing a new offer to ‘close the signing’ of Mosquera. A deal could be finalised over the coming week.
Mosquera has already agreed on personal terms with Arsenal. He is determined to join after rejecting an extension beyond June 2026 at Valencia.
Mosquera would be a good acquisition
The 21-year-old has been one of Spain’s best emerging centre-backs.
Despite playing for a mid-table team in La Liga, Mosquera was brilliant for Valencia last campaign with a passing accuracy of 91 percent.
The central defender won an impressive 70 percent of his ground duels, with an average of 5.1 recoveries and 1.5 tackles per outing.
The Spaniard has primarily played from the left centre-back position, but can also operate from the right when required to do so.
Towards the end of last season, Mosquera played as a right-back for Los Che. His versatility will no doubt have impressed Arsenal.
Mosquera could end up as a replacement for Jakub Kiwior, who is reportedly one of the players who could be sold this month.
The Valencia graduate is far from a complete defender. He has a slight weakness in the air, which he will need to improve on at Arsenal.
