Gun ownership requirements to be tightened in Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhstan will tighten requirements for owners of civilian and service firearms. The relevant amendments were approved today by the Senate of Kazakhstan.
The changes affect the law “On state control over the circulation of certain types of weapons” and introduce additional obligations for firearm owners.
In particular, owners will be required to submit their firearms for test firing. This procedure is necessary for weapon identification and monitoring. If a firearm is not submitted on time, the weapon permit may be suspended.
In addition, a new requirement obliges legal entities that own weapons to hand over firearms and ammunition for storage to internal affairs bodies within 10 working days after the termination of the company’s activities.
