Northampton's Myler rocks Saracens but Lawes limps off
Stephen Myler scored 15 points as Northampton stunned Premiership leaders Saracens on Saturday, but the 20-15 win came at a cost as England second row Courtney Lawes suffered a potentially serious leg injury.
Lawes limped off late in the first half with an ankle problem and will now be a question mark for next Saturday's Six Nations clash with Wales.
Northampton scored the only try of the first half, with Myler the man to cross, but two penalties from Ben Spencer, and another from the impressive Alex Goode gave Saracens a 9-7 half-time lead.
Lee Dickson went over early in the second half for his fifth try in four games, to give Saints the lead once more, with the sides trading penalties thereafter as Saracens failed to come back.
Third-placed Wasps suffered a first Premiership defeat for two months as Gloucester continued an impressive push towards the play-off places with a 13-10 success.
Gloucester's fourth win in their last five league starts was achieved against the odds after they lost four players to injuries as Rob Cook, Henry Purdy, Paddy McAllister and Billy Burns all went off.
Gloucester captain Greig Laidlaw's second-half penalty secured the victory, which came after an earlier penalty and his conversion of Welsh hooker Richard Hibbard's try.
Wing Christian Wade scored a memorable solo try for Wasps, with New Zealander fly-half Jimmy Gopperth adding a conversion and penalty, before Gopperth sent a drop-goal attempt narrowly wide with the final act of an absorbing game.
Danny Cipriani came off the bench to help Sale overturn a half-time deficit and defeat Harlequins 29-23 at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Joe Ford scored three penalties as the Sharks took a 9-3 advantage after 27 minutes, but the visitors responded to lead by the interval.
New Zealander Ben Botica kicked a pair of three-pointers and converted Tim Visser's try as they held a 13-9 buffer at half-time.
Sale regained the lead through Samoan flanker TJ Ioane's converted touchdown before Botica levelled matters off the tee.
Cipriani had been dropped following a string of missed kicks but he managed a 100 percent record, which included two penalties and a conversion of Will Addison's try.
Sam Egerton crossed the whitewash late on for the visitors but that could only give them a losing bonus point.
Bath put daylight between themselves and the relegation zone with their first bonus-point victory at the Recreation Ground this season as they defeated London Irish 25-17.
Matt Banahan got two tries for Bath and their others were scored by Semesa Rokoduguni and Leroy Houston, while Welsh fly-half Rhys Priestland converted one and kicked a penalty.
