Accuser, witnesses are all lying, says model boss
Model agency boss Dawie de Villiers claimed that everyone who tesified against him during his trial lied.
|||Johannesburg - Johannesburg model agency boss Dawie de Villiers, who faces charges of sexual assault, rape, child pornography, sexual grooming and fraud, on Wednesday claimed that everyone who testified against him during his trial lied and made up stories.
During cross examination, prosecutor, Arveena Persad, asked De Villiers - in the High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court - if all the witnesses who testified against him were lying. “Yes they lied and made things up,” responded De Villiers, adding that he alone was the honest one.
Judge Cassim Moosa asked the accused to comment on the evidence of some of complainants that implicated him, including the emails, which De Villiers claimed were written by his business partner and the emotional state of a woman who testified against the model agency boss.
The emails implicated De Villiers in an alleged R200 000 fraud, but he denied that he was the author and instead said they were written by his then business partner.
Moosa also asked De Villiers about the emotional state of one of the women, who testified against him. “She was acting, I've seen while working with actors that they are able to make themselves cry, then stop. No one would be able to cry then stop crying the way she did,” retorted the model agency boss.
The trial continues.
