Former top flight star Tam McManus has backed Livingston giving over 7,000 tickets to Celtic fans for their home clash with the Bhoys.
Celtic visited the Tony Macaroni on Sunday and ran out 3-0 winners in the Scottish Premiership clash.
Brendan Rodgers’ men were hugely well supported at Livingston, with a huge proportion of the crowd being away fans.
Livingston have been criticised for giving so many tickets to Celtic fans, but boss David Martindale explained that away fan visits make up 33 per cent of his club’s turnover.
Former Hibernian attacker McManus sees no issue with Livingston handing so many tickets to Celtic supporters as it is their business model.
“Don’t see anything wrong with this. Folk will always greet about small clubs like Livi in the top flight and what they bring”, McManus wrote on X.
“Also done it for years with Hamilton Accies. Not their fault. Need those away gates from big clubs to survive. Not need to worry about it shortly anyhow.”
Livingston are in line to lose the big away allocations for next season as they sit bottom of the Scottish Premiership and are expected to be relegated.
Martindale’s side are ten points off the relegation playoff spot.
