Daughter jailed for repeatedly slashing at dad, 81, with bread knife
She screamed 'I'm going to kill you' when her frail dad answered the door.
A woman who repeatedly tried slash her 81-year-old father with a 10-inch bread knife has been jailed.
Kathleen Lee, 49, screamed ‘I’m going to kill you’ when her frail dad Peter Lee answered the door in Middleton, Greater Manchester, on December 7 last year.
The mother-of-two, who suffered from mental health problems, then launched her attack and repeatedly tried to stab the former sailor in the eye.
Somehow Mr Lee,who is blind in one eye, managed to disarm his daughter, and invited her inside the home for a cup of tea in an effort to calm her down.
But once inside, she grabbed another kitchen knife and began slashing away at her dad while screaming: ‘I want to stab you.’
Mr Lee fought ‘for his life’ against her and suffered three small cuts on his stomach.
He again managed to fight her off and forced her outside the house, before locking the doors and calling police.
Lee was jailed for four years at Manchester Crown Court this week, after she admitted wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

She was also banned from contacting her father for life under the terms of a restraining order.
In a statement, Mr Lee said the incident had been ‘the single most terrible experience of my life’.
He said: ‘I have been in the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy under gunfire, and this was more traumatic and will stay with me for the rest of my life.
‘Since the incident I feel extremely nervous and I feel like I cannot leave my house without the assistance of one of my children.
‘I feel even more vulnerable than I did before especially because of all my conditions which restrict my movement.
‘I get panic attacks and I feel depressed when I think about it. It’s very difficult to put it out of my mind, no tablets or medication can help or calm me down.
‘I am registered blind in one eye, I have chronic heart disease and I am very unstable with walking.’

The court heard Lee had suffered from depression in her youth and adult life.
In mitigation for Lee, defence lawyer William Donnelly said: ‘Her daughters saw her a few days before the offence and described her as a woman whose life had clearly descended into chaos.
‘She had an unhappy childhood which led to an unhappy adulthood.’
Judge Martin Rudland told Lee: ‘A psychiatrist said you were disturbed by your childhood and damaged from it. You are not a danger to the general public.
‘The only person likely to be the focus of your unwanted attention is your father. These offences are serious and this was a sustained assault.’
