UEFA Women’s Referee Symposium examines strategies to recruit and retain female refs
March 5 – UEFA gathered its Women’s refereeing leaders in Nyon this week from its member associations for its firstWomen’s Referee Symposium. The meetings focussed on building pathways and creating the best possible environment for female match officials.
There were 18,524 female match officials registered for the 2024/25 season among Europe’s 55 national associations. This was an increase of 4.4% on the previous season, but the figure is masked by the fact that 69% of them came from just six countries.
