We believe that the elections will be held at a high level
Representatives of foreign states and international organizations are coming to Uzbekistan for the observation of the country’s presidential elections.
A correspondent of UzA was interested in knowing the opinions of foreign journalists who had come to this country for coverage of the elections.
Robert Frantsev, a journalist of the Rossiya-1 and Rossiya-24 television channels:
“Due to my profession, I monitor Uzbek journalists’ work. Your country’s citizens are well informed about its electoral law and presidential candidates. This creates wide possibilities for the presidential elections to conform to democratic principles of openness and transparency and for people to vote for the candidate of their choice.”
Abu Shihada Main, officer of the media section of the embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Uzbekistan:
“Uzbekistan’s electoral law and electoral system are improving with every passing year. Equal conditions created for the presidential candidates is one of the advanced aspects of the election campaign. This is clearly evident in campaign adverts on mass media and billboards put up on streets. Special attention being paid to those who are voting for the first time is also noteworthy. We believe that Uzbekistan’s presidential election will be held transparently and democratically.”
Leyla Orucova, adviser of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Uzbekistan:
“In accordance with Uzbekistan’s electoral law, the country’s Central Electoral Commission has been given all the power it needs to prepare for and conduct the elections. This status serves to create the necessary conditions for the elections to be held within the law and for citizens to express their will freely”.
