Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoev will temporarily perform duties of the President
Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoev was appointed acting President of Uzbekistan, reports information service of the Parliament.
The decision was taken at the joint meeting of Legislative chamber and Senate of Oliy Majlis on September 8.
A proposal on the candidacy of Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the post of temporarily fulfilling duties and powers of Uzbekistan President taking into account his big experience in management positions in bodies of state power and control, respect among people asked the Chairman of the Senate Nigmatilla Yuldoshev. The proposal was approved by the Kengash of Senate.
At the end of the session the Central election Commission was entrusted with the organization and conduct of presidential elections in full accordance with the law "On elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
