Giants escape with win
[...] referee Scott Green emerged from the replay hood and delivered the verdict:
The surreal sequence, in which Tony Romo's 37-yard touchdown pass to Dez Bryant with 10 seconds left was overturned because Bryant's hand touched out of bounds just before the rest of his body landed in the end zone, spared the Giants from what would have been a brutal defeat.
Several said they felt dread when the officials initially signaled touchdown and defensive tackle Chris Canty said it was "a sickening feeling" to think that the Giants were going lose a game they once led by 23 points.
The Giants' best offensive player, by far, was kicker Lawrence Tynes, who did not miss a kick all day and provided what proved to be the game's decisive points with the fourth of his five field goals five minutes into the fourth quarter.
The Cowboys received 437 passing yards from Romo, but also four interceptions, and dropped to 3-4, tied with Philadelphia and 21/2 games behind the Giants.
The Giants stormed to a 23-point advantage over the first 17 minutes — highlighted by Jason Pierre-Paul's first career touchdown off a remarkable interception return — only to watch the Cowboys zoom past with 24 unanswered points over the next 24 minutes to take an unlikely lead.
