Tottenham Hotspur’s match with Chelsea just before Christmas saw Jose Mourinho’s side fail to close the gap on their London rivals.
The Portuguese saw his side suffer a 2-0 defeat to his former employers, who extended their advantage over Spurs to six points.
Spurs were reduced to ten men in the second half when Heung-min Son was shown a straight red card following a VAR check for violent conduct.
The forward tangled with Antonio Rudiger and was claimed to have kicked out at the Chelsea defender.
A similar incident happened during the match between Chelsea and Manchester United last night.
United defender Harry Maguire appeared to kick out at Michy Batshuayi, which saw the England international escape any punishment.
Maguire remained on the field and helped United to a 2-0 win by heading in the Old Trafford outfit’s second goal.
Should have Maguire been sent off with this challenge on Batshuayi considering Son got a straight sending off for a similar challenge.

United’s victory helped to keep the gap between Chelsea and Spurs to just a single point with both sides due to meet at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.
Both matches by referee Anthony Taylor – but both are classed as subjective decisions, and this time VAR Chris Kavanagh decided in Maguire’s favour.
Some Spurs fans took to Twitter to react to the decision.
Shows Son shouldn’t of got red. Making the rules up as they go along.

Son's red card was a complete rubbish.
The VAR is being selective period

He plays for England, so there’s your answer.
Anyway we need Mam Utd to win this game and put pressure on Chelsea before we play them at the wknd— Dennis Menace (@MenacePunks) February 17, 2020
Yeah but we need Man Utd to beat Chelsea so can't complain about this now can we?

I’ve never been convinced with VAR. With that Maguire decision, it reinforces my hatred of it, especially how inconsistent it.

One had José Mourinho on the bench and other one didn’t simple.

Manchester clubs are afforded different rules.
