10. Mozart in the Jungle – 94%
Mozart in the Jungle lifts the curtain on the lives of professional classical musicians – and they’re a lot more rock and roll than you might think.
Inspired by the memoirs of oboist Blair Tindell’s time working in New York’s professional orchestras (Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music), the show tells the story of an edgy young conductor (Gael García Bernal) who ruffles feathers when he takes the helm of a once-great orchestra.
Now in its fourth season, Mozart in the Jungle is fun and fast-paced, and with a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes, is definitely worth an afternoon on the sofa.
9. The Tick – 95%
An offbeat series in which a mild-mannered office temp called Arthur becomes an unlikely sidekick to a clueless superhero in a bright blue tick suit.
Together, the two investigate the return of an apparently long-dead supervillain called The Terror, who is once again taking over the city.
Whether you’re a fan of the original comic series or you’re just looking for something super-short to binge-watch, you’re bound to love the perpetually happy hero of this series as much as the Rotten Tomatoes crew, who rated it a respectable 95%.
8. Sneaky Pete – 96%
You’d be crazy to miss a series that was co-written by Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston and this crime drama series is almost as addictive.
Having just been released from prison, crafty con man Marius (Giovanni Ribisi) assumes the identity of his prison cellmate and reunites with his estranged family, joining their bail bond business and leading a double life that’s almost as dangerous as the one he’s just escaped.
Critics have praised Sneaky Pete’s pacing and its many plot twists and turns, and Rotten Tomatoes agrees – the series is rated 96%.

7. One Mississippi – 96%
Created by American stand-up comedian Tig Notaro and Juno writer Diablo Cody, this dark comedy series follows the story of a woman who returns home after the sudden death of her mother.
Moving in with her challenging family and dealing with her clingy girlfriend as well as her own health problems, she juggles the reality of her new situation while troubles from the past threaten to bubble over.
With a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 96%, one Mississippi is a well-observed and witty semi semi-autobiographical tale that’s well worth the time investment.
6. A Very English Scandal – 97%
Based on a true story that gripped the papers in 1979, Hugh Grant stars as British Liberal Party leader Jeremy Thorpe who conspires to murder stablehand Norman Scott (Ben Wishaw) when he threatens to reveal the details of their sexual relationship – homosexuality was still illegal at the time.
An intriguing tale about the darkness behind British politics, this three-part miniseries was an instant hit with viewers and critics alike when it first aired on the BBC. It also scores an impressive 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
5. Bosch – 97%
Fans of crime drama series will love Bosch, which tells the story of LA Police Department homicide detective Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch who stands trial for shooting a murder suspect, while simultaneously investigating the mysterious death of a 13-year-old boy.
Based on the popular series of novels by Micheal Connolly and now in its sixth series on Amazon Prime, Bosch is a must-see with a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
4. Homecoming – 98%
Coming in at number four, Julia Roberts makes her small screen debut in this well-rated series that actually began life as a podcast.
In ten short episodes, it tells the story of a social worker coming to terms with her work at a secret government centre supposedly set up to help army veterans return to civilian life.
Roberts gives a stellar performance in the lead role, brilliantly conveying the sense of underlying menace present in every episode, and earning the series a glowing 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

3. Catastrophe – 98%
It’s probably no surprise at all that this multi-award-winning Channel 4 series has made the list.
Written by and starring Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney in the title roles, the popular comedy drama has been broadcast in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand and is still hugely popular on Amazon Prime.
After a six-day fling with an American tourist she meets in a London bar, primary school teacher Sharon discovers she is pregnant.
Nobody thinks it’s a good idea, but the two decide to become a couple anyway, with catastrophic results…
If you need something to cheer you up on a rainy afternoon indoors, this could be just the ticket.
2. Undone – 100%
Amazon’s first-ever animated series, Undone is the story of a woman who, after surviving a massive car crash, discovers that she is able to time travel.
The series makes use of a special animation process called rotoscoping, in which animation is drawn onto live action film, creating the effect of a world that is seemingly both real and imagined at the same time.
The first of just two series with full marks on the Rotten Tomatoes list, the site describes the animated comedy-drama series as “groundbreaking and genre-bending”.
It’s a series you’ll want to watch for its uniqueness as well as its interesting portrayal of psychological trauma and existential crisis, so be sure to add it to your Watchlist.
1. Fleabag – 100%
You couldn’t move without seeing Phoebe Waller-Bridge back in 2016, when Fleabag, the series she both wrote and starred in, aired on BBC Three, in a co-production agreement with Amazon Studios.
She has since received an impressive number of awards for the hit comedy series, including a BAFTA for Best Female Comedy Performance, three Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes.
Fleabag is the story of a sexually promiscuous young Londoner who is trying to cope with the recent death of her best friend (with whom she ran a guinea pig-themed café) while her life goes off the rails.
Throw in a crush on a “hot priest”, a godmother who becomes a stepmother and a completely uptight sister, and you’ll see why the black comedy has proved so very popular.
