[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Snags Draw with Saints
Doane Women's Soccer battled to a 1-1 tie on Thursday evening as they hosted Presentation to open the conference season. The tie moved Doane to 0-2-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the GPAC while the Saints moved to 0-3-2 overall and 0-1-2 in the conference.
Doane struck first with a goal by Michaela Thompson (SO/Spokane, Wash.). The play was set up by Ashley Marsh (SO/Gretna, Neb.) who sent a ball to the middle of the field to Daniela Frey (SO/Barcelona, Spain), who then touched the ball over to Thompson. The goal came in the 19th minute of play.
The Saints tied the game in the 33rd minute on an unassisted goal by Abbie Rodgers. She took a long pass up the sideline and was able to take the ball past the Doane defense and scored.
