A pundit has warned Liverpool and Tottenham they will have to pay £60m to land Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa this summer.
Gabby Agbonlahor rates the 23-year-old very highly and believes his progress over the last 18 months warrants a price tag way in excess of the £12m they paid for the defender.
England Under-21 defender Konsa signed from Championship side Brentford in July 2019 and he is now under consideration for the England senior team.
The defender started 24 games in his first Premier League season. However, he has been more heavily involved this season.
Konsa has established himself as a regular in the Villa backline and has had a big say in their impressive defensive record. With 24 goals conceded only leaders Man City have let in fewer goals this season.

Konsa has started 19 of their 22 league games so far in 2020-21and the 23-year-old has been an integral part of their rise to the top half of the table. Given how he is developing, he is now attracting interest from the big clubs.
David Ornstein of the The Athletic claims that Liverpool and Spurs are interested in Konsa.
Former Villain Agbonlahor though says Konsa’s value has rocketed and thinks he is in with a shout of making England’s Euro 2020 squad.
He told Football Insider: “He’s just got to keep doing what he’s doing. Keep clean sheets, it’s all about stats nowadays so keep the clean sheets coming.
“He’s got every chance because he’s been playing outstanding football. He’s comfortable with the ball. He can play out from the back and he’s got that pace which you need in international football.
“Konsa, Mings, Targett, all of them have got aspirations of playing for England. If they keep playing how they’re playing, anything’s possible.
“I’ve heard that he’s a good lad, he’s very confident in his ability. Great signing from Dean Smith. Every signing’s been perfect. He came from Brentford, didn’t cost a huge amount of money and now he’s probably worth five times that amount.”
England claims for Konsa
According to The Atheltic, Gareth Southgate is considering adding Konsa to his England squad.
Konsa’s defensive partner at Villa, Tyrone Mings, has already been involved with England under Southgate. Now, Konsa could follow suit.
Southgate is yet to settle on a defensive line ahead of the summer and Konsa could force his way into the reckoning.
As well as England, Konsa is also eligible to play for Angola, DR Congo and Portugal. The latter are interested in drafting him into their setup.
Therefore, England may need to act quickly to secure his services if they see a role for him.
