Every Pokémon Confirmed For Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is taking the franchise to new heights, but is starting in familiar territory. Here's every Pokémon confirmed in the trailer.
The next era of Pokémon video games is arriving in early 2022 in the form of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but this new era takes players back to the Sinnoh region which was first introduced in Pokémon: Diamond & Pearl. This open-world game transports players to the earliest days of the Sinnoh region to complete the first-ever Gen 4 Pokedex, and a few of the Pokémon players will discover on their adventure have already been revealed.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus was announced as a part of the Pokémon Presents event during Pokémon Week, and it's aiming to take the franchise into a new era. Offering an open world experience unlike anything Pokémon has attempted prior, players will be able to freely explore the mountainous Sinnoh region while interacting with wild Pokémon. While the Pokémon community's opinions of Pokémon Legends are mixed, there's no doubt this game will be a truly unique experience.
That being said, players will likely encounter the same 145 normal Pokémon from Diamond & Pearl without the additional six legendary and mythical Pokémon. As well, players will have access to a few starters from other generations, as well as random Pokémon in the wild. While only a handful of Pokémon were shown during the announcement trailer and overview, here are the Pokémon confirmed to be in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Piplup was the first Pokémon to appear in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer, but the adorable penguin Pokémon isn't one of the game's starters. In fact, it appears that the original Gen 4 starters will be ordinary wild Pokémon.
The Spheal family was also shown alongside Piplup, and while only Spheal and Sealeo were shown, their third evolution is guaranteed to make the cut as well. The Spheal line was first introduced in Gen 4 and has remained one of Pokémon's staple ice types.
It wouldn't be a proper Sinnoh remake if the Route 1 rodent Bidoof and HM carrier Bibarel weren't included. The trailer once again only showed players interacting with a pack of Bidoof, but that guarantees the addition of its second stage evolution Bibarel.
Shinx appeared at a very special moment in the trailer, as it was used to show off Pokémon Legends: Arceus' capture mechanics. The inclusion of Shinx also implies that its evolutionary line will also be in the game, which includes Luxio and Luxray.
The iconic dog-like Pokémon Lucario and its pre-evolution Riolu were both shown in battle during the trailer, and they look as powerful as ever. They were only obtainable in Gen 4 through a special egg given to the player, but it looks like it may be one of the earliest Pokémon the player can obtain.
Rhyhorn was shown taking a real beating from the player's Riolu before becoming another member of the trainer's team. This also implies that Rhydon and maybe even Rhyperior will make it into the game. Rhyperior was originally introduced in Gen 4 but evolves through the use of a special item. However, he can be found in the wild areas in Pokémon Sword & Shield which may also be the case for Pokémon Legends.
Chingling was struggling a bit during the trailer due to the low framerate during its floating animation, but it was still cute nonetheless. As well, its secondary evolution Chimecho is bound to make it into the game, but players will have to befriend the Chingling before it will evolve.
Two more Pokémon introduced in Gen 4, except they weren't given much attention during the trailer. In the scene where the player carefully approaches the Chingling, a few Bronzor can be seen in the background floating around some trees. They evolve into Bronzong by leveling up meaning it will likely be in the game as well.
One of the trainers is shown using a Gallade in battle which is one of the third stage evolutions for Ralts. Ralts is a fan-favorite Gen 3 Pokémon that has made an appearance in every game since its introduction. Seeing Gallade implies that Ralts, Kirlia, and Gardevoir will be included in Pokémon Legends.
Gallade was shown fighting a wild Garchomp which looked like a rather intense fight. As well, Garchomp implies that its pre-evolutions Gible and Gabite will also be in the game.
Of course Pokémon Legends: Arceus would include Starly, especially if it included Bidoof. Starly is the Route 1 bird Pokémon from Diamond & Pearl, and its third evolutionary form Staraptor is shown in battle in a later part of the trailer. This implies that the secondary evolution, Staravia, will also be in the game.
The Gen 4 fire starter was also shown during the trailer traipsing about the wild just before the trainer was going to attempt to catch it. Like many other Pokémon on this list, its evolutions weren't shown but will likely be in the game.
Budew was shown for a split-second meandering around, but its moment of screen time proves that three notable Pokémon will be making it into Pokémon Legends. Budew is the pre-evolution of Roselia which then evolves into Roserade. While Roselia was introduced in Gen 3, both Budew and Roserade were introduced in Gen 4.
Another split-second appearance came from Pokémon's mascot Pikachu who could be seen right behind the male trainer. And unless Pokémon Legends doesn't include evolution stones, Raichu will also be making the cut.
The last of the three Gen 4 starters was also shown in the wild area, and its appearance also implies that its evolutions will make it into the game. Grotle and Torterra are Turtwig's second and third evolutions, and it would be a shame if they didn't make an appearance.
One of Pokémon Legends: Arceus' three starters is the Gen 2 fire starter Pokémon Cyndaquil. This shocked many viewers as this is the first game to feature three starters from different generations. This also implies that players will be able to evolve their Cyndauil into Quilava and Typhlosion.
Another one of the game's starters is Rowlet, the grass starter from Gen 7. Its appearance implies that players will be able to evolve it into Dartrix and then Decidueye.
The last of the three mixed-gen starters is Oshawott which is the water starter from Gen 5. Oshawott evolves into Dewott and Samurott which means these two Pokémon will be in Pokémon Legends: Arceus as well.
Of course, the title Legendary Pokémon was shown at the end of the trailer. Unlike Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum Arceus will be the main Legendary Pokémon the players must face, and the storyline will likely revolve around it and the creation of the Sinnoh region.
That's every Pokémon that is confirmed to be in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Even though the Diamond & Pearl Pokédex included 151 different Pokémon, they may not all make a return in this new adventure. After all, Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes place long before the events of the original Gen 4 games, which means certain Pokémon may not be included, or some Pokémon that were cut from Diamond & Pearl may make an unexpected appearance.
