High school girls volleyball rankings: Bay Area News Group Top 15
St. Francis and Archbishop Mitty stay on top, but there's been some shakeup underneath in the latest Bay Area News Group rankings.
While St. Francis remains unblemished at the top, and Archbishop Mitty continues to sit in the second spot, the rest of the Bay Area News Group rankings went through a bit of turnover this week.
Campolindo has leaped into the Top 10.
Sacred Heart Prep and St. Ignatius have, too.
San Ramon Valley jumped up two spots to No. 3 after a pair of impressive wins.
California fell out of the rankings entirely after losing its last four.

No. 1 ST. FRANCIS (14-0)

Update: The Lancers have yet to lose a set in 2022. Last week saw them take down a pair of ranked teams in St. Ignatius and Sacred Heart Preparatory.

No. 2 ARCHBISHOP MITTY (18-4)
Previous ranking: 2
Update: After an up-and-down experience at the Durango Classic, Archbishop Mitty rebounded with a win against St. Ignatius and then rolled against Presentation with a 3-0 win.
Up next: Wednesday vs Sacred Heart Cathedral, 5:30 p.m.
No. 3 SAN RAMON VALLEY (14-2)
Previous ranking: 5
Update: San Ramon Valley passed back-to-back road tests when the team traveled to Dougherty Valley and Monte Vista for consecutive wins. California, Carondelet and Amador Valley loom in the future.

No. 4 MONTE VISTA (15-2)
Previous ranking: 4
Update: Monte Vista’s biggest game of the week was a huge matchup against San Ramon Valley, which they lost 3-1. Prior to that, the Mustangs took down California.
Up next: Tuesday vs Dougherty Valley, 6 p.m.
No. 5 CARONDELET (14-4)
Previous ranking: 6
Update: Carondelet split a couple of close matchups last week. It beat Foothill 3-2 then found itself on the other side of a 3-2 game against Dublin. Next up is a match against a sliding Foothill team that is trying to get back on track.

No. 6 FOOTHILL (16-6)
Previous ranking: 3
Update: The Falcons are in the midst of a rough patch, having lost four of their last five matches, including two to an Amador Valley team knocking on the door to be ranked.

No. 7: VALLEY CHRISTIAN (9-4)
Previous ranking: 8
Update: Valley Christian split their two games last week, winning the first 3-0 against Presentation. The team then battled in a close 3-2 loss at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Valley Christian will try to bring down Goliath when the team hosts St. Francis on Wednesday.

No. 8 CAMPOLINDO (14-6)
Previous ranking: Not ranked
Update: Campolindo has earned this spot after a strong showing at a tournament last weekend. The Cougars defeated Sonoma Valley, Piner, and Windsor before finally losing a match against Oak Ridge.

No. 9 SACRED HEART PREP (11-4)

Update: The Gators earned a jump up the rankings after stringing together six (and counting) wins over the last week. A big game against ND-Belmont looms on the horizon.

Update: Only losses to teams in the Bay Area News Group coverage area have come against St. Francis, Archbishop Mitty and Sacred Heart Prep. Has two wins over Sacred Heart Cathedral, including one in WCAL play, and another over Notre Dame-Belmont.

No. 11 SACRED HEART CATHEDRAL (8-6)
Previous ranking: 10
Update: Sacred Heart Cathedral couldn’t defeat St. Francis — who can? — but the Fightin’ Irish rebounded by edging out Valley Christian 3-2.

No. 12 BISHOP O’DOWD (18-5)
Previous ranking: 11
Update: The Dragons had one of the busiest and most successful weeks of any team in the Bay Area, going 6-1. The highlight was winning a tournament by taking four straight from teams like Balboa and Skyline.

Update: The Vikings suffered back-to-back losses last week, and will face a disciplined Monta Vista team on Wednesday as the team continues to trudge through their league schedule.

No. 14 NOTRE DAME-BELMONT (13-4)
Previous ranking: 14
Update: Notre Dame enjoyed a 2-0 week, with their first win coming in a fight for Notre Dame bragging rights against ND-San Jose. ND-Belmont then got the win against Castilleja.

No. 15 BURLINGAME (14-4)
Previous ranking: 12
Update: Burlingame won four games last week, which included victories against teams like Los Gatos. However, the team also suffered a couple of losses to Sacred Heart Prep and Hillsdale.
