Man suspected in Lafayette home invasion robbery, kidnapping
Police responded to the 1000 block of Carol Lane about 8:20 p.m. Saturday.
LAFAYETTE — A disturbance Saturday night ended in the arrest of a man suspected of a home invasion robbery and kidnapping, officials said.
The incident happened in the 1000 block of Carol Lane, where Lafayette police responded about 8:20 p.m. for reports of a suspicious circumstance at an apartment complex, Contra Costa Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said. The sheriff’s office contracts out Lafayette police officers.
After an investigation, officers arrested the man on suspicion of home invasion robbery, kidnapping and false imprisonment, Lee said. He gave no other details.
The suspect was injured before officers arrived, Lee said. He went to a hospital for treatment and was released into custody.
