I’m a kids’ dietitian and there’s an easy way to get picky eaters to try different food without making a fuss
SOMETIMES kids are just fussy eaters.
Although most little ones grow out of it eventually, it can be frustrating for parents in the meantime.

Kids’ dietitian Kacie Barnes reacted to a video of one mum getting her son to try different types of spaghetti, praising her method.
In the clip, the mum starts by portioning out three small piles of spaghetti, one plain and two with different sauces on.
Kacie explained why the trick was a winner: “The idea of a taste test is a really great one to try with food they already like.

“This isn’t going to be new foods but something they’ve tried before and then we’re just making these really small changes.”
If you kid still doesn’t seem very interested in trying to food you can try make it into more of a game, letting them give each food a rating from one to 10, Kacie added.
“When you see they’re willing to try, I would continue forward with it,” the dietician explained.
But if you’re meeting “heavy resistance” it might be better not to push the new food.

Instead, try to incorporate their other senses and try touching and smelling new food to get them more comfortable.
Parents loved the idea, one wrote: “Put very simply, you’ve given the child choice. That way he feels like he has control over the situation.”
