The George Pyrich OTB Allegro Championship Series 22-23 Report
The George Pyrich OTB Allegro Championship Series 22-23
The 4th George Pyrich OTB Allegro Championship Series took place at Kirkcaldy Chess Club on Wednesday 29th March 23, 7:30pm.
Format: 5 round Swiss, 15 minutes each player
It was a good turnout with 24 players making their way to Kirkcaldy!
It was also fitting that we finished the series at Kirkcaldy Chess Club, the home club for the late George Pyrich, the person this tournament is named after in his memory of the Chess legacy he left behind.
First up congratulations to Ed Spencer (Dundee) who not only finished equal 1st at Kirkcaldy, but also defended his TAFCA George Pyrich Allegro Championship Series overall title by a clear margin!
Well played Ed and well deserved!
Castlehill`s Rishi Vijayakumar J11 shared the title of TAFCA Kirkcaldy Allegro Champion with Ed Spencer, both undefeated on 4½ points after drawing their last match against each other!
Rishi also finished equal 2nd in the George Pyrich Overall Allegro Championship Series with Alisdair McLeod (Castlehill) on 12 points!
Thank you to Kirkcaldy Chess Club, Peter Selbie and Strathearn Hotel for all their hospitality on the night!
