BGT legendary winner Paul Potts slams show for allowing farting act on the live show
BRITAIN’S Got Talent legend Paul Potts thinks ‘fartist’ Ichikawa Koikuchi shouldn’t have been given a place in the semi-finals.
Ichikawa’s BGT routine sees him blow out candles, set off a party horn and pop a balloon with his own farts.
Paul Potts BGT was not impressed with the farting act[/caption]But last night he failed to impress the judges and those watching at home – including former winner Paul, who slammed the show for allowing him to take up the place of someone with actual talent.
Speaking via Sky Bingo, he told us: “To be honest, I think he took up a space that somebody else could have had, who actually has a talent.
“No disrespect to Ichikawa, I’m sure he’s a nice guy but I just wonder whether it’s fair because he ends up being ridiculed.
“Unless he’s clued up about what’s going to happen and how it’s going to be, it could be a little bit unfair on him.
“It stops a place being available to someone that might have made better use of it. There is a space for a fun act, but I don’t think the live rounds is that place.”
Ichikawa didn’t win a place to the final, after all four judges buzzed him off.
It’s not the first time the act has come under fire for his performance.
Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom told The Sun it received 66 official complaints shortly after his audition was broadcast.
Ichikawa previously auditioned for the Asian version of the show in 2019, as well as the French one in 2022.
Ironically, he also made it through the initial stage of Asia and France’s Got Talent but didn’t last much longer in the competition.
