Eva Longoria’s secrets to aging backward at 48 revealed – actress swears by a $12 serum and is ‘never tempted’ by bread
EVA Longoria barely seems to have aged since she rose to fame on Desperate Housewives in the mid-200s.
Fans are stunned that the actress and filmmaker is actually 48 — and it turns out she swears by some budget-friendly products for maintaining her youthful glow.
Eva burst onto screens in CBS’s The Young and the Restless in 2001 before becoming a breakout star of ABC’s Desperate Housewives in 2004.
She has repeatedly ranked in People’s list of the world’s most beautiful people, while also achieving a spot in FHM’s Sexiest Women poll.
Since she became a spokesperson for L’Oreal in 2005, fans have been captivated by her age-defying look with many taking to social media to comment.
“Eva Longoria continues to be one of the most beautiful people alive. She is aging better than I can ever hope to imagine doing,” one person tweeted.
“Eva Longoria is really aging backward. The math not mathing,” another wrote, adding a heart eyes emoji.
“Eva Longoria is absolutely ageless and looks exquisitely beautiful, as always,” a third said.
“Idk [I don’t know] how she does it. Those are some amazing Latina genes.”
But she’s more than a pretty face.
In 2023, she released her directorial debut, Flamin’ Hot, as well as a six-part CNN series called Looking For Mexico, in which she explored the land of her ancestors.
Variety reports that Eva is now set to direct two episodes of the Spanish-language remake of the Emmy-winning French series Call My Agent!
She also has her tequila brand, Casa Del Sol Tequila, and a whopping 9.9 million Instagram followers whom she routinely interacts with.
We’ve taken a deep dive into Eva’s anti-aging secrets to discover how she stays youthful despite her grueling schedule.
SKINCARE
Eva, who has been married to has been married to José Bastón since 2016 and has one son, is a self-proclaimed “skincare maximalist” with a lengthy regimen that includes creams, potions, and serums.
She told Glamour magazine that it takes her about 20 minutes to complete her routine and that she assesses what is working for her skin annually.
“I’m gonna start with my hyaluronic acid,” she said while demonstrating her skincare routine to Vogue.
“This hyaluronic acid is for plumping, refreshing, filling in those fine lines.”
She used L’Oreal Paris Revitalift 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum, which is available from Amazon for $12.
The actress then applied Augustinus Bader’s The Face Oil, $265, and Rich Cream, $185.
“I tend to have dry skin, I’m like normal to dry,” she said creaming her face.

“I then use my Facify machine to de-puff my skin.
“I like to get in here to kind of contour my cheekbones,” she said putting the machine on her cheeks, which is available from Facify Beauty for $399.
“You wanna go toward your lymphatic glands to get all this liquid and water and puffing out of your face.
“I love taking care of my skin. I like the way it feels, it’s like I’m pampering myself every day in the bathroom.”
Eva applied L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives Hyaluronic Acid and Caffeine Eye Serum which is available from Target for $27.
She followed with Augustinus Bader’s The Eye Patches, $23, and Laneige’s lip sleeping mask, $24 from Sephora.
“As you get older, ladies, you have to prep your skin and specifically your under eyes,” she said.
Eva then rubbed Jasmine oil on her chest while saying affirmations and applied an SPF 50 sunscreen.
She finished her skincare routine with L’Oreal Paris’ Lumi Glotion, $17.
MAKEUP
Surprisingly, Eva was mocked for her appearance while growing up because of her dark features.
“All my sisters were blonde and I grew up as la prieta fea, which means the ugly, dark one,” Eva said, according to News24.
The actress now wears a full face of makeup every day and has racked up over 100,000 likes on Instagram reels sharing her routine.
In one video, she held up a huge box containing her collection of beauty products and then began to pluck stray hairs with tweezers.
She used a sponge to blend L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24H More Than Concealer, $15, under her eyes.
Eva then applied neutral shades from the L’Oreal Paris X Ellie Saab La Palette Haute Couture Eyeshadow Palette to her eyelids.
She used the $9 L’Oreal Super Slim Long-Lasting Liquid Liner in brown to line her eyes.
She gave her lashes a “dramatic effect” using L’Oreal’s Voluminous Original Carbon Black, before enhancing her eyebrows with L’Oreal Brow Stylist Shape and Fill in dark brunette.
The look was completed with L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation, a bronzer, a pink shade of blush, and nude lipstick.
“If you don’t have good skin, piling on makeup just makes you look older and much worse,” Eva told Allure.
“When it comes to makeup, I don’t overset or overpowder it.
“The more powder you put on the fine lines in your face, the more you see it.”
HAIR
Eva colors her grays every two weeks using L’Oréal Paris’ Excellence Hair Color in shade 4, $9.47.
She spoke candidly about coloring her hair at home in a video posted to Instagram during lockdown.
“I go from back to front, massage it in, just put it where it’s needed – mine is everywhere,” she said applying the dye to her roots.
She showed impressive before and after photos of her glossy chocolate brown hair after it was colored using the $11 dye.
The actress has also shown her followers how to use the wash-off spray L’Oreal Magic Root Touch-Up to conceal gray hair.
“[The] thing I love is that it doesn’t get on my skin when I have makeup on and it doesn’t get on my hands,” she raved.
“I don’t know what this stuff is made of but it is magic.”
FITNESS
Eva has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, the study of the movement of the human body, from Texas A&M University.
She exercises five days a week for an hour to 75 minutes to keep fit and for mental health benefits.
She begins by bouncing for around 30 minutes on a JumpSport Rebounder, a miniature trampoline with bungee cords instead of springs.
This is followed by a strength training session with a personal trainer.
“I do very heavy weights,” Eva told Women’s Health.
“I feel like my body changes the most when I do that—I wear a heart rate monitor, and I can see my heart rate spike from just doing a heavy bicep curl.”
The actress also enjoys Kettlebell flow classes and revealed she will go for a walk to get active when she doesn’t have the chance for a full workout.
Her other health habits include tracking her sleep with an Oura Ring and meditating for at least five minutes a day.
Eva’s trainer of three years Julia Brown told Shape that Eva “never” works out later than 8 am.
“We break the days into specific muscle groups or full body with an emphasis on a certain muscle group,” Julia said. “She doesn’t miss a day.”
DIET
The star swears against following fad diets preferring a balanced lifestyle that she adapts in response to how her body reacts.
“I just live a healthy lifestyle and don’t do anything in excess,” she told Elle.
“Every time I ate ice cream, I didn’t feel good. I figured out that was lactose intolerance.”
She typically eats within an eight-hour window each day, usually 11 am to 7 pm.
After her workout, she has a black coffee and may take a bite from her family’s breakfast, which includes egg whites and avocado or refried beans on flour tortillas.
Lunch and dinner are protein-packed with steak, fish, or chicken served with vegetables.

The actress doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth but likes to sip on wine or her own brand of tequila – Casa Del Sol.
“Olives, pretzels, popcorn, potato chips — that’s my jam,” Eva told Women’s Health.
