The Everton Forum • Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 4 Points Back
This would just add fuel to the hasty creation of the European Super League.Clearly the financial bubble is bursting across the board/Continent - only way out is to either bring in some form of fixed transfer fees or go down the salary cap route.
If the maximum you could pay a player was set at say 150k a week, and they would have to be a full international or have certain potential requirements then every team could pay the same and lower standard players wouldn’t be in massive money
And before anyone says that’s unfair, anti competitive etc, it’s pretty much what every other industry does in terms of wages, just it’s self enforced. No one needs to be on 10m a year (clearly) so bring in a rule whereby the next contract is subject to a maximum amount.
Would take a couple of years to wash itself out and no doubt places like Saudi or China would still pay silly money so if you were that way inclined fuck off over there.
Or have almost every club in Europe face financial ruin in the next decade
