FAU basketball, Boca Raton law firm raise more than $2K for ‘Baskets for Babies’
The Florida Atlantic University men’s and women’s basketball teams helped raise money for charity based on their three-point shooting prowess throughout the 2023-24 season’s home games.
Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP, a Boca Raton law firm, gave $2,240 to Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County from its “Baskets for Babies” campaign, thanks to the hoopsters.
A supporter of the FAU program, the law firm donated $10 for each three-point shot made during the year. Firm representatives presented a $1,000 check to the nonprofit organization during halftime of the women’s game against Tulane. They followed that up on March 9 with a check for $1,200 during the men’s game against Memphis. The amount grew as the game progressed.
“We are very proud to partner with FAU and Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies,” said firm partner Joel Feldman, who once served as the nonprofit’s vice chairman.
“This nonprofit organization does a wonderful job providing programming and services to expectant mothers and their families,” Feldman said, “and doing all it can to promote healthy births.”
SSRGA, which also has offices in New York, supports several South Florida charities including Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, the George Snow Scholarship Foundation, and Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options (JAFCO).
