Chances are your home doesn’t smell good – every interior designer I know has the same secret weapon for odors
AN interior designer has revealed the fragrant secret weapon of her trade.
Chances are, she said, your home doesn’t smell so good.
But no one wants their home reeking of cologne a la stinky.
It doesn’t have to be this way according to Nina Takesh (@ninatakeshofficial).
Bad odors can be banished thanks to her recommendation, available from Amazon.
All interior designers use it and it’s time everyone else got in on this sweet-smelling act.
Each home has its distinct aroma, but some of these are unpleasant.
She pointed the finger of blame at body odor.
But there were more smelly offenders.
SMELLY HALL OF SHAME
Some areas of a home were guilty of perpetuating the stink attack.
These were:
- Teenage bedrooms
- Teenage boys
- Pets
- Pet upholstery
- Sofas
- Body odor
- Diapers
- Cat litter
One whiff of these and guests might want to get the first bus out of town.
Forget about scented candles and diffusers, they are not up to the job, according to Nina.
She said they don’t eliminate the odor, but only mask it.
But Nina’s secret weapon can address any lingering concerns.
She uses the Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gell, available from Amazon, $31.
She said there wasn’t an interior designer that didn’t use it.
One commenter said she was “running to Amazon” to grab hers.
Another had her fingers crossed.
“I hope this works with dog smell. We have a Golden Retriever and they are a stinky breed,” she said.
Keep towels smelling fresh with these tips
Fresh Clean Laundromat has shared their useful tips to keep towels smelling fresh and fragrant and odor-free.
- Always hang towels up to dry after using them.
- Make sure towels are completely dry when they come out of the dryer.
- Do not fold and put away damp towels.
- Avoid using fabric softener on towels.
- Instead, add white vinegar to prevent build-up.
- Avoid using too much laundry detergent when washing towels
- Make sure you are measuring accurately, as build-up on the towels can begin to smell.

I have one next to my cat’s litter and it works so well,” said one fan.
“Oh my God thank you for this. My son’s room reeks due to diaper change,” wrote another.
But other commenters took a more commonsense approach.
“Solution: open the windows every day. Source: all French grandparents.”
