Warming trend takes shape around Oregon, Washington Friday
Clearing skies and warmer weather are expected as Easter weekend approaches.
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Clearing skies and warmer weather are expected as Easter weekend approaches.
Morning clouds will keep temperatures mild for the start of the day around Portland. Sunny afternoon conditions are expected to warm highs into the low 60s along the Willamette Valley. Friday will be the start of the nearly five-day stretch of rain-free weather.
Easter weekend will remain sunny and dry as temperatures climb into the mid-60s. No records are expected to be broken, but temperatures will remain above normal by nearly five to 10 degrees in some locations.
This warming trend comes as the month of March comes to a close. In April, Portland typically sees slightly drier and warmer conditions. By the end of the month, Portland's new average daytime highs will be in the mid 60s.
The dry, mild and sunny weather pattern will come to an end by the middle of next week. That's where highs will fall back into the upper 50s with the return of rain. The afternoon highs in the upper 50s are more closely align with what's normal for the start of April.
