Frontal passage brings showers tomorrow, with cooler air in its wake
We saw another day of very warm temperatures with temperatures reaching the lower 80s this afternoon under mostly cloudy skies. South winds have been persistently breezy, in the 10-20 mph range throughout the day today, and will continue at this clip through tomorrow afternoon.
A front is projected to move through the area tomorrow afternoon, which could give us a few showers. Most of the rain will remain to our north, so rain chances will be modest (30%). Behind the front, strong northwesterly winds are expected for Wednesday. Cooler air is expected for Wednesday night, as overnight lows will fall into the upper 40s. Highs on both Wednesday and Thursday in the lower 70s!
A warming trend is expected by the weekend as southwesterly flow and upper-level moisture return. Expect another weekend similar to what we've just seen, with highs in the upper 70s and partly sunny skies. Unfortunately, clouds may significantly hamper any chance of viewing the Total Solar Eclipse next Monday across Acadiana as global models are showing widespread cloud cover and rainfall. Here's to hoping the forecast changes!
