The "Reno 911" actress wore deep purple satin stilettos featuring a timeless pointed toe.
Niecy Nash stepped out in glamorous jewel-toned pumps for the 2024 Writers Guild Awards at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The annual Writers Guild Awards honors exceptional writing in film television, news, radio projects and more. Among the night’s winners were “The Last of Us,” “Beef,” “The Simpsons,” “Succession,” and “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.”
The “Dahmer” actress has proven herself to be a fan of the classic pointed-toe silhouette when it comes to high heels. At the premiere of Netflix’s “Shirley” last month, she wore a glossy black patent leather Gucci pair featuring a thick ankle strap with a bow tie fastening at the front. Nash also donned a pointy PVC style at the Black Excellence Brunch presents “To Be Celebrated” event on March 3. For the Grammys on Feb. 4, she wore another high-shine style embellished with a gold chain slingback strap.
About the Shoes
The “Reno 911” actress hit the red carpet in stiletto pumps in a deep shade of purple for the occasion. The sleek, slip-on style featured a pointed toe and a lustrous satin finish. While the height of the heel wasn’t visible, it appeared to be approximately 4 inches tall.
About the style
Pointed pumps are a staple silhouette in many wearers of high heels’ shoe rotation. They offer a timeless look, especially when done in black, though jewel-toned styles tend to be more popular during the holiday season. Stilettos first became prevalent on the feet of the likes of Marilyn Monroe in the 1950s. Designers Salvatore Ferragamo, Roger Vivier and André Perugia have all been credited with making the first stiletto heel. Subsequently, the launch of Christian Louboutin’s namesake label in the 1990s and Carrie Bradshaw’s obsession with Manolo Blahnik contributed to the stiletto being a highly sought-after shoe style.
