Ichabods Grille in West Topeka set for grand opening
TOPEKA (KSNT) - After weeks of major renovating, Ichabods Grille is having its grand opening.
After changing ownership, the bar formerly known as Henry T's, is back open for business with a few big changes. Brady Barnes is the regional manager for Vikings Grille, Thunderbirds Grille, and now Ichabods Grille. He told 27 News they went all out with the updates.
"We did it big, all new floors, re-did the ceilings, all the walls, a ton of new T.V.s," he said. "T.V.s everywhere, so it's great viewing for all the games."
Barnes said those familiar with Henry T's can expect to see the same staff and old menu favorites like the gluten free options and famous ranch dressing.
The Capital City native also said while they want all of Topeka to feel welcome, their goal is to create a space specifically for Ichabods, both past and present, to enjoy a sense of community.
"At our other locations we partnered with Seaman, the Vikings," Barnes said. "Shawnee Heights, the Thunderbirds. And now we want to build that same connection with obviously Washburn and 'Ichabods.' This is for Washburn, this is Washburn's spot now."
The restaurant has plans to stream Washburn University athletic events so the Ichabod faithful have a place to come and show support. Barnes said he couldn't yet share details, but can say Washburn students should keep their eye out for student specials they may offer in the future.
Ichabods Grille has been open since their 'soft opening' April 15, and the grand opening takes place Friday, April 19. It will be open at 11:00a.m. and will stay open until 1:00a.m.
