Rohit Sharma RUBBISHES Reports of Opening With Virat Kohli at T20 World Cup 2024 – Check DEETS
Rohit revealed that he has not met him and nothing has been decided on who opens.
Mumbai: We are roughly a little over 10 days from the announcement of the much-awaited T20 World Cup squad and speculations, as expected, are rife. A report on Wednesday suggested that India captain Rohit Sharma would be opening the batting with Virat Kohli. This came as a surprise for all as one reckoned it would be Rohit opening with either Yashasvi Jaiswal or Shubman Gill. The Indian captain was asked recently about the prospect of opening with Kohli by former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist. To that, Rohit revealed that he has not met anyone and nothing has been decided on who opens. In a way he claimed that the report was false.
“We haven’t met so far, we haven’t decided who’ll open at the World Cup (on him and Kohli opening). In today’s age, until and unless you don’t hear from me, Rahul bhai or Ajit bhai, everything else is fake”.
Meanwhile, Rohit is set for a big milestone when MI play PBKS tonight when MI take on Punjab in Mullanpur. Rohit would be featuring in his 250th IPL game and become the second player to do so. In 249 IPL games, he has amassed 6472 runs at an average of 30.10.
