Boys lacrosse
Loyola Blakefield 23, John Carroll 6: Mason Cooke had a natural hat trick in the first quarter and the host Dons (4-7, 3-3 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) jumped out to an 8-0 lead and rolled past the Patriots (3-8, 1-6). Mason Cook finished with a game-high seven goals and five assists. His brother Bennett Cook had four assists. Other top scorers for Loyola included Luke Rush (3 goals, 3 assists), Jake Doran (3 goals, 1 assist) and Matthew Joerres (2 goals, 3 assists).
St. Mary’s 11, Mount St. Joseph 10: Junior attackman Jameson McAndrews dished off three assists for the Saints, who picked up their first win against MIAA A Conference competition. Caden Cunningham and Ganon Cope scored two goals apiece, while Than Souza totaled a goal and two assists. Cole Kucinski and James Brimhall both contributed a goal and an assist.
Calvert Hall 7, Gilman 6, OT: Cody Collier scored the game-winner in overtime to lift the visiting Cardinals (7-4, 5-1 MIAA A Conference) over the Greyhounds (9-4, 4-2). Calvert Hall trailed 6-5 before Preston Huffman scored with 1:50 left in regulation to force overtime. James Meyer had a hat trick and Jay Rodgers scored twice for Gilman.
C. Milton Wright 20, Aberdeen 2: The Mustangs built a 12-0 halftime lead and cruised to the win. Sam Levi led the win with four goals, while Justin Eckman backed him with two. Lucas Seifert, Gavin McCullough, Zach Brown and Liam Bender each scored two goals. Garrett DiBlasi went 18-for-26 on faceoffs.
Girls lacrosse
Eastern Tech 16, Carver A&T 4: Abby Schwartz-Mitchell powered the Mavericks’ big win with four goals and two assists. Four other players scored two goals: Jenna Appler, Lily Jones, Emily Reese and Keira Choi. Appler had two assists and Jones had one. Olivia Norman, Andrea Latona, Kylee Jones and Marya Barnaba also scored.
Catonsville 15, Bel Air 11: Casey Fisher totaled nine points, split between five goals and four assists to lead the Comets to the nonconference win. Kate Roberson backed her with three goals and an assist. Ava Bruns made seven saves in goal. Bel Air’s Paige Feick had a team-high six goals. Riley Manzo scored three.
Century 11, Fallston 9: The Knights passed a tough nonconference test against the Cougars. Delaney Sandbank led a balanced Century offense with three goals and two assists. Natalie Opatovsky also scored three goals and had one assist. Marley Carfine and Harli Hamlett each scored twice with Carfine handing out two assists.
Tennis
Hereford 6, Towson 3: Second girls singles player Ivanka Charchalis and the second girls doubles team of Serena Pallan and Kiana Eshaghi each won third-set tiebreakers to help the Bulls edge out the Generals. Julia Carrese won the top girls singles match for Hereford, while doubles wins came from the teams of Nadav Weisberg and Matt Nawrocki, Lukas Everett and Henry Bishop, and Anna Kurtz and Athena Zhou. Towson took the two boys singles matches with James Toms and Andrew Kammann victorious.
