Pedestrian killed in crash with Broward Sheriff’s deputy in Pompano Beach, officials say
A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy in Pompano Beach Saturday morning, officials say. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office are now investigating the crash.
About 5:30 a.m., BSO Pompano Beach District deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the crash near the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to a media release. There, they found the deputy who had been driving and the pedestrian, who paramedics pronounced dead at the scene.
The release did not identify the pedestrian or the deputy.
BSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the crash.
